What happens to the old archive boxes?
After we have emptied and shredded the confidential paperwork from your archive boxes, the boxes are baled and sent off to be fully recycled.
How many years do I need to keep archived business paperwork before shredding?
If you’re a VAT registered UK business, you’re required to hold onto accounts paperwork for 7 years before it can be securely destroyed.
My archive boxes contain many lever arch files. Can you shred lever arch files or does the paperwork need to be removed?
Our powerful industrial shredders are able to shred lever arch files whole and therefore you are not required to remove paperwork from them.
Do you offer a reminder service for when our next archive shredding day is due?
Yes, once we’ve shredded your archive boxes, we’ll keep a record and let you know when your next shredding day is due, so you never have to keep track of retention dates yourself.
Do our archive boxes need to be on a ground level for pick up?
We do require archive boxes to be on ground lever and within easy vehicle access. However if this is not possible, we are able to collect from a basement or 1st/2nd floor etc and there would be an additional cost applicable and please contact us in the office to discuss.
Can you collect archive boxes from a storage unit rather than our office?
Yes, we offer flexible, timely collections from your office, home or storage facility, whatever’s most convenient for you.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of archive boxes you'll collect?
Not really, our pricing scales from 2 boxes right up to 16+ boxes, and for larger volumes we’re happy to discuss a discount.
How is archive paperwork actually destroyed?
Your archive boxes are transported to our secure shredding facility, cross shredded under CCTV surveillance by our industrial shredder, then baled and sent to UK tissue mills for recycling.
Do you offer discounted rates for larger archive shredding jobs?
Yes, for collections of 16 or more archive boxes, just get in touch and we’ll discuss a discount tailored to your volume.
